PREEXPANDERS

Discontinously operated Batch Preexpander Series VPX:

• Electronic weighing system
• Foaming vessel in conical design with wedge wire base
• Fast material discharge through bottom butterfly door
• Frequency controlled agitator speed
• Fluidized bed with z segment structure drying floor
• Digitally controlled regulation valves for steam and air

Fast material discharge:
• Butterfly doors for emptying the vessel in shortest time
• Opening has a larger diameter compared to traditional systems
• Easy access for maintenance

Advantages of VIRO´s pre-expander VPX series:
• Wedge wire screens ensure a uniform distribution of steam
• Even density distribution
• Perfect target density repeatability
• Shorter cycle time, compared to traditional systems
• Optimal raw material utilization
• Minimized energy consumption

Options for VPX:
• Density control and weighing system connected at fluid bed dryer
• Second pass unit to handle lowest densities at highest precision
• High density unit for density range from 25g/l to 45g/l
• Heat exchanger linked to wash air blower to heat drying air connected to steam system
• Raw material loading and storage platform, incl. protection handles and staiway
• Energy recuperation system – eliminates exhaust steam over the roof

capacity depends on raw material type and quality !

Continously operated Preexpander Type CANNON:

Instead of blocking the VPX batch preexpander, by using it in multiple stages to obtain lower densities, the continously operated preexpander CANNON can be used as a second stage expander. The price difference between a continous preexpander and an MPU (multiple stage unit) is small compared to the overall capacity of the preexpander plant, which is significantly higher, when using both systems at the same time.
